IAPS Bulletin 53 is now available!

We are pleased to announce the publication of IAPS Bulletin 53 (December 2025). This latest issue brings together a wide-ranging set of contributions exploring how people understand, relate to, and engage with nature and the built environment.

At the core of Bulletin 53 is a thematic focus on nature, approached from multiple disciplinary, conceptual, and practical perspectives. The issue opens with an editorial address by Adina Dumitru, “Humans in, with, as nature”, setting the scene for a series of reflections that examine the meaning of nature and its role within environmental psychology and related fields.

Highlights from Bulletin 53 include:

  • A thematic section on Nature, featuring conceptual, empirical, ecological, and practitioner perspectives

  • Reflections on how nature is understood and studied in environmental psychology

  • A country-focused contribution on Environmental Psychology in China

  • Updates from IAPS Thematic Networks

Beyond the thematic section, the bulletin also includes:

  • PhD thesis summaries on participation, dwelling, and urban greening strategies

  • Conference reports from recent ICEP and EDRA meetings

  • A “My Favourite Book or Paper” section

  • News on new books, projects, journals, and developments in the field

  • A compilation of IAPS members’ recent publications

  • Announcements of upcoming conferences, including the 29th IAPS Conference at the University of Surrey

Together, Bulletin 53 offers a snapshot of current research, reflection, and community activity within people–environment studies, highlighting both conceptual debates and applied work across diverse contexts.
