The IAPS Networks are interest research groups formed by IAPS members. They carry out debates, discussion groups, publications, and organise symposia and conferences. For example, in 2013, the IAPS-Culture and Space, IAPS-Housing and IAPS-Sustainability Networks jointly organised a Symposium in A Coruña, Spain, with the theme “Sustainable environments in a changing global context Identifying opportunities for innovative spaces and practices in contexts of crisis”.
Young researchers are encouraged to become members of the IAPS networks and take part in their meetings and activities. Any researcher, academic or practitioner willing to join a network can send an email to the Network’s Convener(s).

2025 IAPS SUSTAINABILITY NETWORK Meeting
The IV International Meeting “Strategies for Mitigating Climate and Conflicts Induced Threats and Risks” took place at the University of A Coruña (Spain) from 23–25 September 2025, organized by the IAPS Sustainability Network and the People-Environment Research Group. The event was a great success, gathering researchers and professionals from Europe, Latin America, and Asia, both in person and via online streaming. Over three days, participants shared ongoing research projects, new methodologies, and applied experiences addressing environmental risks, climate adaptation, and social resilience. The meeting also featured presentations on the future directions of European research, including reflections on the upcoming Horizon Europe programmes, highlighting opportunities for international collaboration. The broad participation and diversity of topics evidenced a strong international interest in advancing interdisciplinary approaches to sustainability and human–environment relations.
